The Atlas Statue stood proudly at the Rockefeller Center, its muscular bronze shoulders were adorned with celestial spheres, a reminder of the eternal task of the Greek God Zeus. Behind the statue, St. Patrick's Cathedral gracefully rose up from the street in Neo-Gothic-style architecture, its spires and towers basking in the muted light of the sun.
The scene was sublime, the play of light and shadows accentuating every detail of the cathedral. It was a perfect time of day when the sky was still clothed in white and nothing seemed to move or change.
Standing before this majestic monument, one feels humbled and inspired. One cannot help but feel called to take on the same challenge of the King of Mount Olympus and strive for greatness.
