The Battery Lower Westside Manhattan Skyline.

The lower Westside of Manhattan radiated the evening sun, its twinkling lights emerging with the setting of the sun. The Westside cityscape rose up above Battery Park, its beautiful buildings displaying a wonderful palette of tans, browns and creams wonderfully illuminated in the golden light of the setting sun. Wonderfully fluffy clouds of white and grey drifted across the sky, complementing the Hudson River below and the beautiful white sailing boat heading downriver, its gleaming sails billowing in the evening breeze.

Amid the beauty of the scene, a lone figure stood by the railings of Battery Park. He was a young man, dressed in a neat grey suit and a white dress shirt, gently gripping the railings with both hands. His eyes, deep blue like the evening sky, gazed at the horizon ahead, as if searching for something he knew he would never find.

A cool breeze blew in from the north, ruffling his hair ever so slightly. He breathed in the sea air and exhaled loudly, as if to let go of the weight that he was feeling, before turning away from the view and heading off in the direction of the city.

As he walked away, the sun began to dip beneath the horizon, and the evening lights of the city began to flicker into life.
